Animated GIF - Cycles through multiple GIFs to produce an animation. Animated GIFs do not give the same level of control as other animation formats (Flash, Shockwave, Applets) resulting in a simple less complicated animation. The strong point of animated GIFs is that they are very small files (less download time) and are supported by nearly all browsers without the need of a plug-in (as does Flash & Shockwave).
